Student Engagement and Professional Development
This Conference entitled, “A New Era of NOAA’s Environmental Satellites” allow all stakeholders including students/early career professionals (e.g. graduates or postdocs) to participate in the conference plenary session and workshops plus the actual conference (e.g. poster presentations, networking and meeting with potential employers/private sectors). The Agenda provide students an opportunity via posters and oral presentations to showcase results of collaborative research projects and partnerships between user community, professionals, researchers, scientists, faculty and students at NOAA, academic, private sectors and with other stakeholders.
The purpose of quality professional development is to encourage experimentation, support coordinated efforts, and promote individual capacity building within a community of supportive colleagues. The student engagement goal is to encourage students to present applicable research for technical sessions and poster session, attend training sessions geared towards data users and providers, lead presentations, poster sessions, or network with a number of renowned scientists and experts from across the globe, and communicate and discuss various scientific topics of interest and their research.
